New course: Python for children aged 12–17

Master the programming language future IT specialists start with

iTerra Kids Academy is now enrolling for a new Python course for children aged 12–17. It is a modern programme that helps students take their first serious step in programming, learn to think like a developer and build their own projects in one of the most popular languages in the world.

The course is designed to be clear even for those who have never programmed before. Instead of dull theory, students put their knowledge into practice straight away, moving gradually from simple tasks to their own applications and mini projects.

Why Python?

Python is one of the most in-demand programming languages. It is used in web development, game creation, artificial intelligence, data analysis, process automation and robotics.

Thanks to its simple syntax, children grasp the basics of programming faster and can focus on developing logical thinking rather than on complicated language rules.

A lesson in the classroom

What will students learn?

During the course, children will get to know the key topics of programming:

  • Python basics;
  • variables and data types;
  • conditions and logical operators;
  • loops and functions;
  • working with lists and dictionaries;
  • writing their own programs;
  • algorithm basics;
  • first AI tools and task automation.

Every new topic is reinforced with practical exercises and mini projects.

What projects will children build?

During the course, every student will build their own digital portfolio.

Projects include:

  • a smart calculator;
  • text-based mini games;
  • a random password generator;
  • a chatbot with simple scenarios;
  • an AI assistant in Python;
  • their own final project.

All the work stays with the child and can become the first step towards a future IT portfolio.

How do the lessons work?

We focus on practice: children spend more than 80% of the time on real tasks.

In class, students:

  • code together with the teacher;
  • get individual help;
  • work in small groups;
  • present their own projects;
  • receive feedback after each module.

Lessons are available online from anywhere in the world and offline at our centre in Bucharest.

Students at computers

What will the child gain by the end of the course?

After completing the programme, the student will be able to:

  • write Python programs with confidence;
  • understand the basics of algorithms;
  • solve practical tasks independently;
  • create their own projects;
  • work with modern development tools;
  • continue with advanced iTerra Kids Academy programmes, including preparation for the international Certiport certification.

Who is the course for?

The course is designed for children aged 12–17 who:

  • are interested in computers and technology;
  • want to learn to create their own programs;
  • dream of developing games or websites;
  • plan to study artificial intelligence in the future;
  • want to gain modern digital skills.

No previous programming experience is required.
